You’re invited on Sunday, April 24, to Empty Bowls 2016, an event in support of Family Promise of San Gabriel Valley.

At Empty Bowls, you’ll be able to purchase a handcrafted bowl made by local artisans and enjoy delicious soup from local restaurants. All proceeds will go to Family Promise SGV, a nonprofit 501c3 organization that brings local faith congregations together to support homeless families with shelter, meals, employment and housing assistance, and other services.

You may keep your soup bowl as a reminder that some people have empty bowls not by choice, but by unfortunate circumstance. Or you can donate your bowl back as a gift to families who’ve found a permanent home.

The event also features performances by local musicians, a silent auction, and artisans offering pottery for sale.

Tickets are $30 prepaid online until April 23. After that, tickets will be $35 at the event. Children ages 5 and under are free.
